Kadek was clear that this is a ritual and not a wellness activity, which I appreciated. She prepared the offering with me and explained each spout. Very moving.
Melukat is a cleansing ritual Balinese families do at turning points — before a wedding, after an illness, at the start of something. It is not a spa treatment and Kadek will not present it as one.
She prepares your offering with you first, explains what you are asking for at each of the eleven spouts, and lends you the kamben and selendang you need to enter the water. You go early, before the queues, to a spring temple outside Denpasar that is still mainly used by local families.
Afterwards there is tea and a quiet half hour to sit. Kadek can hold the ceremony in English, Indonesian, Balinese or Japanese. Please note the ritual is not appropriate during menstruation — Balinese custom, and we will happily move your date at no charge.

Wayan and The team arranged everything so well and made us feel very comfortable throughout the journey. He always will send quick response and clear doubts.
