Perfect on our first morning with jet lag. Gentle walk, real sunrise, and the bubur stall had no English menu at all.
Sanur faces east, which is why the whole town is awake before six. You meet Kadek on the sand at 05:45, when the sky over Nusa Penida is just starting to go orange and the jukung are coming back in with the night's catch.
You walk the beach path north towards Pantai Matahari Terbit while she explains what you are looking at: the offerings left on the sand at dawn, the seaweed farming that used to run this coast, why the reef sits where it does.
Breakfast is bubur ayam at a stall that has been on the same corner for twenty years — no menu in English, which is the point. About two hours in total, gentle, flat, and a good first morning if you have just landed.
Pantai Sindhu beach entrance, Sanur, 05:45
Wayan and The team arranged everything so well and made us feel very comfortable throughout the journey. He always will send quick response and clear doubts.
